REWORK

One of the three books I linked at the bottom of an old post about forcing myself to stop after five or six hours, and it’s the one on that list making the argument hardest. Chapters run a page or two. Planning is guessing, meetings are toxic, workaholism isn’t dedication it’s a failure to prioritise, and building half a product beats building a half arsed whole one. It’s written by two people running a deliberately small software company, so none of it is theoretical for them, and a fair chunk of it is them being openly rude about how everyone else does it. Some of it has aged oddly. The bits about hours haven’t.

I do really like the theories put forward by it, I just feel like a John for doing so. They’re phenomenal salesmen.
